Exceptionalities at Hunt Elementary

Exceptionalities are occurring all over the world in classrooms.  English as a second Language, Emotional disability, physical disability, hearing impaired, speech impaired, learning disability, visually impaired, and bipolar are all examples of exceptionalities. Students have different problems as they enter schools, and as a educator you need to know whats wrong with kids. For example, during my field experience I witnessed a young girl who had physical disability and she was in a wheel chair. She had a good spirit and was a very smart and sweet young girl. She had tumor in her stomach and has been in the wheelchair since she was able to walk. With this disability, the young girl is unable to participate in activities as other students.

I AM

I am A Man
I wonder about the Future
I hear Voices
I see Dreams coming true
I want Millions
I am A Man
I pretend to be a rock
I feel the pain insdie
I touch the clouds
I worry about small things
I cry tears pf joy
I am A Man
I understand you may fail
I say quitters never prosper
I dream enormous goals
I try to exceed in everything
I hope to be President of the United States one day
I am A Man

Non-Violence Zone

A critical Incident that happen while I was on my field, was the Fifth grade was playing kickball. While playing kick ball, a student kicked the ball and ran to his base. The student was safe, but another student took the ball and threw at the student on base. The student on the base got mad, and wanted to fight. One of my student observer ( Randell Cooper) and I took the students in the corner and talked to both of the students. We told them that it was a game, but at the same time it was wrong because the student had no reason of throwing the ball at the other student while he was on the base. We told them that school is not a place of violence, but it is a place of learning, and striving hard each and every day for an education. After the talk the both students apologized and shook hands and promise that it wouldn’t happen again.
